I’ve been perusing the May 2006, Fortean Times and, as always, it’s got some notable things to mention.
There’s an article about the Australian Yowie, a bigfoot-like monster, although with several significant differences. (My theory is that this is a marsupial variation of the venerable yeti.)
According to the article, two men, Neil Frost and Ian Price, encountered the Yowie in the Blue Mountain neighborhood. They describe the creature as being frightening and having a “…testicle-tightening growl…” but despite that, they decided to hunt the creature.
I quote the article:
So, night after night, the two men would chase the creature – which would announce its presence by noisily thumping the ground- watching it flit between trees and across fire trails just beyond their reach.
At this point I’m going to suggest that they buy a friggin’ camera!
