This nifty little article from the land down under shows just how effective a good library of stock photos can be.

I wouldn’t want to see that Zombie Dog trying to break into my Volkswagon Bug!

Or, this could just be an article on a new technique for saving lives through artificial suspended animation…

Looks like archaeologists have located the exact spot that the Stonehenge stones were taken from.

240 Miles from Salisbury plain, the excavation site has been located in Wales (Home of the new Doctor Who), as detailed in this IC Wales article.

I wonder if someone will start a campaign to have the stones repatriated to Wales?

The redoubtable Guardian of London brings us this timely article dredging up a 25 year-old nutter theory that UFOs are really large, invisible living organisms (that look suspiciously like film developing imperfections.)

Must have been such a slow news day that they couldn’t even find something to pick on Tony Blair about.

According to Channel 3 in Phoenix, the UFO video in question is a hoax!

The man who recorded the video failed to show up for the promised analysis of the original tape, indicating that all the brou-ha-ha over the UFO thing was cutting into his work.

Based on the copy they had, the expert says that the artifacts on the lights matches the artifacts ont he text added after the fact, indicating that they were both added in the same way, also, he says the auto-focus never causes the lights to go out of focus… although, the video doesn’t appear to have been shot in auto-focus.

Well, I’m not going to argue, one way or the other…

Just got word from Channel 3 that they’ve obtained the original camera and footage I mentioned on my post yesterday. The story is tonight at 8:00PM, you can also watch it at their website.

Here is the text of the notice I received:

Rumors and allegations have swirled for more than a week. Did Brian Bessent of www.ufotheatre.com
REALLY shoot that “amazing UFO video” in Phoenix on June 5th? Thousands have viewed this “amazing new video”; hundreds have written to us at www.azfamily.com with their thoughts and theories.

Bessent finally agreed to submit his camera and original videotape for professional analysis.. and he also agreed to allow our news cameras to document the process.

We never could have predicted what happened on Wednesday afternoon! Our report airs tonight at 8pm on Channel 3 in Phoenix. Those out of the area can check out http://www.azfamily.com/video to watch the report. Spread the word!

Looking at their sight, they also have a couple other pieces of footage from the last couple of months, the implication is that it is some form of secret pseudo-military spy device being testing in the valley.

In this post on the BBC, they discuss a new theory of time travel (and I couldn’t help noticing that they managed to link this to Doctor Who – the final episode of the new series airs tomorrow) based on Quantum Mechanics, which says, in essence:

You cannot change any history that you know.

Example: If you know your father is alive today, you cannot go back in time and kill him. However, if you don’t know if he’s alive or not, you might be able to change history.

This leads me to believe that all those slugs who didn’t pay attention during history class will be the vanguard of tomorrow’s time travellers… or worse, time travel’s shakers and movers.

Yet another reason why eduction or logic will not help you understand Quantum Physics.

March 13, 1997, when hundreds of people in Phoenix were seeing the Phoenix Lights, a friend and I had been out playing raquetball and running some errands. Not only were we out and about that evening, we were at the perfect locations to see the lights.

We saw nothing.

Now, I find that less than two weeks ago, on June 5, 2005, another reported sighting, this time with some Amazing video – if it’s real. Once again, missed the whole darned thing.

The original report is here, and if you go to ufotheatre.com you’ll see a fair amount of frantic skeptic-bashing, which does nothing for the credibility of the sighting, in my opinion.

That said, the footage is really interesting – if it isn’t a fake, it’s the most exciting UFO footage I’ve ever seen. Even if it is a fake, it’s pretty darned cool.

On the update page, he shows daylight shots from the same location. Looking at the footage (with enhancements) it does indeed look to be the exact same spot. The shapes of the mountain, the trees in the foreground, the utility lines overhead all seem to match.

Where then are the lights of the towers clearly visible in the daytime shot.

Taking the original footage (as posted) and adjusting the brightness and contrast, plus a little edge detection, the towers themselves are discernible, but the lights are not. That seems… odd. The jury is still out.

A This is London report reveals that a British hacker has been arrested and faces extradition to the US for hacking into NASA and US Military computer systems searching for evidence that the US Government has been coverning up information on human/alien contact.

If he’s extradited, I wonder if he’ll be “abducted” too?
