For all of us who thought some of the great plains states are a bit boring, how about turning them into Pleistocene Park?
Scientists are proposing re-balancing the ecological environment of North America through the introduction of modern equivalents of the Pleistocene megafauna that were wiped out of existence shortly after man arrived on the continent. Not only would it restore balance, but it might make a thriving habitat for these endangered animals.
Lions, cheetahs, elephants and camels might someday be a common sight.
