Lake Monsters, or Photoshop Monsters?
This “breaking” cryptid photo is supposedly of Nahuelito. Nobody likes a good like monster as much as me, but this picture looks suspiciously like a hoax to my eye.
Still, it’s worth a look at Cyrptomundo.

Interview With An Alien’s Creator
John Humphreys, British special effects man “admits” that he created the alien body in the 1995 Alien Autopsy footage, although he maintains that it was an accurate re-creation of poor quality film purchased mysteriously by the filmmakers.
Humphreys is a special effects designer probably best know for his work on Max Headroom.

Megacyrometeors
Falling Ice Perplexes Scientists
This article from the San Francisco Chronicle talks about the second mysterious ice block, this one as large as a microwave oven, to fall to Earth this week. The first landed harmlessly, the second crashed through the roof of a recreation center. Witnesses described the sound like an artillery shell.
Supposed culprits include air falling from airplanes, really big hail (even though the sky was cloudless) and, of course, global warming.
You’d think it wouldn’t be that big of a deal to figure out. The article clearly states that the ice is white rather than the typical blue associated with airplane toilet discharge. Our research at Spottings shows another possible source: Beta Reticulan spacecraft.
Reticulan urine has been reported to be completely white, hence the old saying, “That snow is as white as a Reticulan’s pee.” Reticuan urine is also chemically almost indistinguishable from plain water. We suspect that if an analysis were done on the composition of these megacyrometeors, they’d be revealed to be almost certainly ordinary water, confirming our hypothesis.

Oh, never mind, more Yowie
Later in that same article:
Neither man favours the other obvious explanation (emphasis added) for a creature that does not feature in Australia’s zoological profile, can elude capture, move with lightening speed and is often reported as having glowing red eyes – that it is a creature of paranormal (emphasis added) origin.
Well that explains why it’s not being taken seriously enough. The only time the obvious explanation being paranormal is an acceptable answer is when you’re an Intelligent Design “scientist” (as they like to call themselves.)
Advice to Yowie Hunters
I’ve been perusing the May 2006, Fortean Times and, as always, it’s got some notable things to mention.
There’s an article about the Australian Yowie, a bigfoot-like monster, although with several significant differences. (My theory is that this is a marsupial variation of the venerable yeti.)
According to the article, two men, Neil Frost and Ian Price, encountered the Yowie in the Blue Mountain neighborhood. They describe the creature as being frightening and having a “…testicle-tightening growl…” but despite that, they decided to hunt the creature.
I quote the article:
So, night after night, the two men would chase the creature – which would announce its presence by noisily thumping the ground- watching it flit between trees and across fire trails just beyond their reach.
At this point I’m going to suggest that they buy a friggin’ camera!
