Guardian UK: Is there anybody out there? How the men from the ministry hid the hunt for UFOs

The Ministry of Defence went to extraordinary lengths to cover up its true involvement in investigating UFOs, according to secret documents revealed under the Freedom of Information Act.
The files show that officials attempted to expunge information from documents released to the Public Records Office under the “30-year rule” that would have revealed the extent of the MoD’s interest in UFO sightings.

Typical.

Paranormal News Magazine: Was Springheeled Jack a Robot?

You can’t deny one thing, you don’t hear much about Springheeled Jack these days…

You don’t hear much about Springheeled Jack these days because the last major sighting of the creature was in 1953 (and was linked to a UFO sighting). But in nineteenth-century Britain, he was very much the talk of the day. Characterized by his giant leaps, vicious behavior, and diabolical appearance, he successfully eluded capture for many years, evading police and the army, and mocking them with daring leaps and wild eerie laughter…

…Without doubt, at the time, a witness would have thought the creature a demon or some other paranormal entity from his appearance. In today’s society, however, a large helmet, metallic claws, springed heels — sounds like a robot. Nineteenth-century Britain didn’t have a context for robots, and barely had a context for electricity. Blue-white flames sound very much like electrical discharges. Red flaming eyes could easily be light bulbs. Could Springheeled Jack have been a robot from the distant future? dropped off by UFO? or was he simply a Victorian prankster with a flair for the metallic?

This is bound to be only the beginning. It’s Global Warming, I tell ya!
